About Me

BACKGROUND

Upon moving out of my parents house for Indiana University, I fell into a very unhealthy lifestyle.  I traded mom’s healthy cooking for pizzas galore and daily sports for a mere 20 minutes of walking, and that was only if I missed the bus!  In 2 years I definitely noticed that my health was affected (weight gain, poor complexion, appendicitis, gall stones, and arthritis) and decided to do something about it.  It would have been easy to make excuses to maintain my new unhealthy lifestyle as I was walking and avoiding fried food but I knew my health as well as my overall life could be much better.  I soon discovered yoga, leaned to cook, and educated myself on the importance of whole foods.  I was so happy with the changes that I not only saw but also felt, that I decided to help others make similar changes in themselves.

Now as a Yoga Instructor and Health Coach in Austin, TX, I spend my days helping clients achieve their specific   health goals through customized health, nutrition, and yoga programs.  I am a board member of Slow Food Austin, a teacher for Community Yoga, and a novice gardener at Homewood Heights Community Garden.

TRAINING

I purposely sought out schools that teach a wide variety of techniques so that I would have the tools to be able to customize programs to your needs, making each class, each session, and each meeting unique to you and your goals.

I received Yoga Alliance certifications from Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica and Joschi Yoga Institute in New York City.  I have also completed certification programs in Prenatal Yoga with Carrie Parker Gastelu and Yoga Dance with Megha – Nancy Buttenheim.

I received my training to practice Health Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City and am also certified by the American Association of Drugless Practioners as a Health Coach.
